Some lovely photos from a client I had last month. She recently got in touch to ask about my availability to do her hair and makeup for a fundraising event this Wednesday. Unfortunately I wasn’t available this time — I just started my chemotherapy treatment in Gosford today, and thankfully it went well. 🤞I was very happy to recommend two other wonderful artists, @michelhaagcreative and @nedashakori.makeup, both on the platform @withflayr — a company that has been incredibly supportive of me throughout this journey. Thank you, guys! It also feels like a good time to mention a little fundraiser I started a few weeks ago for @chris_obrien_lifehouse. Dr Selvan Pather there was incredibly kind in helping me get seen and diagnosed promptly after the initial news from our GP and coordinating a chemo program with Gosford Private Hospital to be closer to home until surgery. Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is a wonderful organisation doing such important work. This isn’t a personal fundraiser — it’s an official one which was offered as an option by Meta when tagging them in recent story. It’s simply a way of supporting a cause that means a lot to me especially when I learned of Chris’s love of music and saw the center’s dedicated music space for performers. On an earlier visit for diagnostic tests I heard a staff member there playing some Spanish guitar pieces by Tarrega that my dad played often when I was a child and more recently even in the ward rooms of my mum and uncle. Playing my own chill music playlist that I’ve played for clients over the years with many songs @shazam from their own playlists helped so much as well today :) If you’d like to contribute, you can find the link at the top of my profile page.🔝 And finally, thank you so, so much for all the messages of love and light I’ve received this week. Sara for the National Seafood Awards last month - Sara works in marketing from catch to table. I rarely, if ever, post pics of myself on this account but unfortunately this morning was given a very adverse health diagnosis a month before my 50th birthday. I realised I had forgotten to promote a lash business I had promised beforehand to tag on social media when I availed of her discounted services last month and had to cancel an upcoming booking with her for next week. @nushlashandbeauty in Woongarrah did such an awesome job on my lashes last month at a time when I was not quite sure what the hell was going on with me. The lashes lasted the whole month right up until the past few days. Thankyou so much Anushka for your meticulous care and attention to detail in your extremely relaxing home studio - I fell asleep haha! You made me feel much better in a time of extreme confusion. Today is the first Sunday in August which makes it Sister’s Day. It was such a pleasure to meet Jo at her brother Thomas wedding in Carcoar. She had a stash of her own good quality makeup and we found out we both love the stuff because we both had the same ‘conservative’ religious upbringing and were not allowed to have it until 16.
